Amelia Chores is a free, US-only app that pays you to record yourself doing household chores so the footage can train robots. You pick an available chore, follow the recording instructions, submit it and are paid for approved work every Friday through PayPal or Wise. The pay for each chore is shown in the app before you start rather than published. It is a real app run by Amelia Labs with a 4.8 iOS rating, but some Android reviewers report buying a head mount and a long onboarding call.
- Free to join, US only, paid every Friday for approved chores via PayPal or Wise.
- Pay per chore is shown in the app, not published on the website.
- If you run a crew or own a business, Amelia has a separate program that pays the business.
What is the Amelia Chores app?
Amelia Chores is the consumer side of Amelia, a company that supplies first-person footage to robotics labs. Its website lists chores such as wiping counters, making beds, vacuuming, folding laundry, cleaning bathrooms and organizing the garage. The recordings show robots how real people do these jobs in real homes.
The app is published as "Amelia: Get Paid to Do Chores" on the App Store and Google Play. The iOS seller is 404 Apps LLC with copyright to Amelia Labs, the same company named in Amelia Robotics' terms.
How does Amelia Chores work?
The website describes four steps.
- Pick it: choose a chore that is currently available.
- Do it: follow the recording instructions as you go. Each chore shows what to record before you begin.
- Send it: submit the recording for approval.
- Get paid: payments for approved work go out every Friday through PayPal or Wise.

How much does Amelia Chores pay?
Amelia does not publish per-chore rates. Its site says current availability, requirements and earnings always appear in the app before you begin, so you see the pay for a chore before deciding. We found figures on social media but none on a company page or in reputable reporting, so we do not list one.
For context, other chore apps publish or have been reported at $5 to $25 per hour of accepted video. See the pay rates tracker. As with every app here, only approved work is paid.
Is Amelia Chores legit?
The basics check out: a live app on both stores, a named operator, published payout rules and thousands of ratings. On iOS it rated 4.8 from about 5,700 ratings when we checked. On Android it showed 10K+ downloads.
Google Play reviews are more mixed. One reviewer said onboarding meant watching videos, spending about $15 on a head mount and booking a video call before recording. Others raised privacy worries about training videos. Read those as reasons to go in informed, not as proof of a scam. Our Amelia legitimacy check covers the company side.

What about privacy?
You are filming inside your home, so read the instructions and record only the requested work. Keep faces, mail, screens and family members out of frame.
Google Play's data safety section for the app says it may share location, personal info and other data types with third parties, that data is not encrypted, and that you can request deletion. Amelia's privacy policy says its programs are paid and consent-based and that it does not sell personal information.

Run a crew or own a business? The business program
Amelia Chores is for residential chores. Amelia runs a separate program for businesses, where a crew records the paid work it already does and Amelia pays the business monthly. Trades, construction and auto services are its top priorities, followed by farms, warehouses, kitchens, cleaning crews and more.
The numbers are larger because a crew records many hours. at the typical rate of about $10 per approved hour, a 5-person crew recording 20 approved hours a week each would bring the business about $4,000 a month (5 x 20 x 4 x $10), before the owner sets the crew's share. That is illustrative; the agreement and approved hours decide actual pay. If you work for someone else, send this page on the business program to your boss.
